All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:37

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:7-11

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1-4

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

HAVE
YOU
ACCEPTED
CHRIST
AS
YOUR
SAVIOR?

Here's What To Do Next!

1. Worship God Every Day-
Tell God you love Him. Praise the Name of Jesus. Learn to rejoice in Jesus even when things are not going well.

2. Read The Bible Every Day-
We strongly recommend the New King James Bible

3. Pray Every Day-
Prayer is simply talking with God. Your talk with God should go both ways: not only do you talk to God, but listen to what He has to say to you. He will speak to your heart.

4. Go To A Bible Believing Church, Every Time Their Doors Are Open-
We recommend Christian groups such as Zion Fellowship which adhere to all the cardinal truths of the Word of God including God's standard on marriage. Do not just "go to church": participate!

5. Serve God In Some Way-
Find something to do for God, even if it seems "small" or humbling.

6. Tell Others About Jesus-
Talk to others. Pass out Gospel tracts.

7. Be Baptized In Water-
As soon as possible, seek to be baptized by immersion in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Water baptism will not save your soul ( accepting Christ as your Savior does that ), but if you truly love Jesus, you will obey this simple command found in the Word of God.

Open rebuke is better than secret love.

Animals Can Talk To God
Some humans talk to God: what about animals? Psa. 148:10-13 tells all of God's creation to praise the Lord. Whatever the leviathan was, Job 41:3-4 alludes to the idea that it would communicate to God. Joel ( Joel 1:18-20 ) notes that both animals and man cry out to God because of the discipline they have experienced from the Lord.

Are Humans Animals?
When I was in high school in the late 1960's, I became convinced that humans were the same as animals and that we did evolve. However, in my senior year I came to know Christ as my Savior and as I trusted the Bible, the Lord changed my mind. He also showed me that the theory of evolution was exactly that - a theory. Upon further study I soon discovered that the science behind the theory was flawed.

It is not the purpose of this page to delve into the science side ( I will provide links for this in a moment. ). I do want to point out just a few Holy Scriptures on this topic taken from Genesis.

Read Gen. 1:26-28 and note the distinctiveness attributed to man. One extremely important aspect is that man was created in the image of God. This statement is not ascribed to animals anywhere in the Holy Scriptures.

Mankind is also assigned the task of having dominion over the rest of creation. Verses 24 to 25 show that the animals were made distinct from each other.

Gen. 2:7 is the verse that indicates that out of all of God's creation, only man was declared a living soul.

It is a cruel ploy of satan to convince each generation that we are animal evolved from other animals. Satan just loves to destroy the thought that we mankind was made in the image of God. In so doing, he offers humans an "excuse to sin", since, after all, we are only like the animals.

By the way, back when I was in high school science declared there was only two biological kingdoms, viz., plant and animal. Now I hear they say there are six or seven kingdoms. My point is that we humans are still learning. God knows it all. We are not animals because above all other earthly creatures God made us a living soul.

Be Kind To Animals
As mentioned in the table above, man is made in the image of God ( Gen. 1:26-28 ) and is to have dominion over the animal kingdom ( Gen. 1:24-25 ). One of the moral attributes of God is love which is often expressed in kindness. Just as God is greater in intelligence than what we are, we, in turn, have greater intelligence than the animals. Just as God demonstrates understanding towards us, we too need to demonstrate an understanding towards the animal realm. However, UNLIKE our relationship to God where God KNOWS what we need, sometimes we have great difficulty knowing what our pets want. This is when we need to make an extra effort to be kinder.

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. - Proverbs 12:10 Many who are cruel to animals are cruel to people. There have been some cases whereby people have tortured and killed animals and later, for a greater thrill, later killed people.

One that loves Christ will emulate the love of the Father in their actions towards animals.

Clothing From Animals
There is a theory, and it is only a theory, that before Adam and Eve had sinned, they were clothed with the glory of God.
Bible FACT declares that, upon sinning, "the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; " (Gen. 3:7). It is true that they tried to make clothing from fig leaves, but the Lord God Himself directed them to wear skins from animals.

Before we continue as to why the Lord God chose animal skins we need to know that clothing in God's Word represents righteousness (Isa. 64:6, Zec. 3:1-7, Job 29:14, Psa. 132:9). We also need to know that sin, any sin, brings death (Rom. 6:23) both physical and spiritual and that God loved us so much He desired to do something about our fallen state. Hence, He, Himself as the Son veiled Himself in human flesh to live, die, and rise again for us so that we may inherit eternal life.

Therefore, using animal skin at that time was necessary to cover our nakedness and provide protection from the elements. Later, humans were able to use other substances such as silk and cotton. In modern times, synthetic material has been devised that can be used as clothing. So, now our animal friends can breathe a sigh of relief since there are now other sources of clothing for most people.

God, in no way was being mean when He used animal skins but was declaring His personal mercy towards man since Jesus would have to rescue us from our sins. Man probably knew what God indicated and animal sacrifices foreshadowing the passion of the Messiah were instituted from that point, the clothing acquire from such as foreshadowing our being clothed with the righteousness of Messiah IF WE FULLY TRUST HIM BY FAITH.

A word of caution: always carefully check what the Bible really says on these matters. For example, here is a sentence from the Encarta Encyclopedia disk that came with my computer: "In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve, the first human beings, realize they are naked after they eat an apple from the tree of knowledge." That statement contains two errors. The Bible never states that they ate an apple, but they did eat the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. That is Encarta's second error! The tree that they partook from was the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, not simply knowledge. "Clothing," Microsoft® Encarta® Encyclopedia 2000. © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corporation. Do Animals Go To Heaven?
The Bible mainly deals with the salvation of human beings and there is nothing that directly states that an animal goes to heaven or hell. I know there is a passage in Ecclesiastes on this and I will address that below.

As a younger Christian I felt that the spirit of an animal was terminal at physical death. I also thought that there was only one "stop" after this earthly life. There is one MAIN one: if we truly commit to Jesus, we will be with Him at death or at the rapture. However, I found out that Christ will return to rule on earth for 1000 years ( Rev. 20 ). After that, there is a new heavens and a new earth.

After studying the Bible and reading over and over again I see a possibility that some former pets might join the fun during the Millennial Reign. Consider Rom. 8:22!

As one well known minister has put it, if God deems it needful to have animals in heaven to make us happy then He will make it so.

Do Dogs Get Unfair Treatment?

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.-Revelation 22:15

Is there something wrong with dogs that if other animals get to heaven they cannot? Is it because "Bowser" or "Spot" has a chewing fit at times and nibbles on your dress shoes? What about "Tabby" who thinks the world is his scratching post?

Well, this is just an example of Bible symbols and analogies. Consider these two verses:

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. - Philippians 3:2
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. - 2 Peter 2:22

As you can see, no doubt the dogs mentioned in Rev. 22:15 refer to those who have known Christ but have turned away from Him.

The Donkey That Talked
At least twice, Holy Scripture records animals speaking. The second of the incidents occurs in Numbers 22. For the almost full story read Numbers 22 to 24.

I am an adult, currently hold a Bachelor of Science Degree and enjoy the sciences. Do I really believe that this donkey spoke? YES! God can do anything! Luke See Luke 1:37.

There are times that God must use some extraordinary measures to get us to listen to Him. Sure God told Balaam to go. However, Balaam went with greed. How we go is more important at times than the fact we may go.

Ecclesiastes
Besides Genesis, another Bible book greatly misinterpreted is Ecclesiastes. Always remember that context plays a vital role in interpreting any passage of Holy Scripture. Another factor of interpretation is the style of the book. Ecclesiastes is a poetical book.

In the 1970s the Jehovah Witnesses used many verses from Ecclesiastes, some of which was an attempt to "prove" that the unrepentant would be annihilated, that is, cease to exist instead of burning in hell forever. Now, in the early 2000's they declare that everyone will get a second chance at the resurrection. I am so glad that Jehovah ( actually Yahweh ) Himself doesn't "flip flop" on His statements.

Cited by the JWs were verses such as...

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. - Ecclesiastes 3:19
Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?- Ecclesiastes 3:21

The style of Ecclesiastes is poetical. Many times in Hebrew poetry the author lays bare his emotions. The tone of Ecclesiastes is that earthly things are vain, empty. However, if we take the entire context of the book, and, KEEP READING we come to chapter 12 verses 1 and 7:

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;...
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Immediately we can see that Ecclesiastes 3:21 was a rhetorical question posed by Solomon with the true answer being found in Ecc. 12.

Faces Of The Four Living Creatures
Perhaps you have read Ezekiel or Revelation and came across the "four living creatures" (see Ezekiel 1 for their Biblical debut).

As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.-Ezekiel 1:10

Hopefully everyone that reads that passage wonders what do those faces mean. We need to be inquisitive about the Holy Scriptures and diligently study them.

First, these are real creatures, and their whole composition sends a message to us. This page, however, will only deal with their faces.

Some commentators suggest that they represent God's entire creation in some aspect with the judgement of God. The face of a fish is omitted since the flood supposedly effected those creatures that were breathing air. However, even though we might be able to do without a face of a fish, but about the insect realm? So, that explanation does not seem to fit for this passage.

The best explanation I have found was in the notes from Walter Beuttler, former instructor of Northeast Bible Institute, now with the Lord. He suggests that the faces of these four living creatures express certain characteristics of the Messiah (Christ). The face of the eagle tells us that Messiah lived in our flesh on the highest spiritual plane. Yet, He humbled Himself to serve us, hence, the face of the ox. The face of the lion speaks of the Kingship and Deity of Messiah, while the face of a man denotes the fact that in love He veiled Himself with our flesh to live, die, and rise again for our wholeness and salvation.

God Talks To Animals

And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them: -Amos 9:3

And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.- Jonah 2:10

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. - Isaiah 7:18

The Honored Donkey
Centuries before Christ (Messiah) came in the flesh, Zechariah (9:9) prophesied, saying "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

Jesus fulfilled this as we read in Mt. 21:1-11. God veiled in our flesh had control over both man (v.3) and animal (v.7 and Mk. 11:2).

A creature often mocked by some was used to bring honor to God.

The Snake That Spoke

It's Hisssssssstory!

Genesis 3 tells us that the serpent encouraged Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit. He spoke to her saying: "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" (v.1). Satan was speaking to Eve through this critter. Again, it is not the object of this page to go into depth theologically as to why God would even allow this to occur. But this is a lesson to pay attention to the Creator and not the creation!

Satan will always question the Word of God. Did God say don't steal? Did God really say what He did in Luke 16:18 and 1 Tim. 3:2? Is Christ really coming back? ... and so on!

Some would say that a snake did not do this but it was satan and only satan. If the serpent in Gen. 3 is symbolic and not actual, so are the other subjects: Eve, Adam, the fruit. True, in Revelation satan is referred to as the Serpent, but nowhere is he referred to as a beast of the field. Hence, what we have here in Genesis 3 is a real snake being used by satan to speak to Eve.

Tamed???

For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: - James 3:7

The Greek word for tame can mean to curb. Indeed, man has dominion over the animal realm.

Why Are Some Animals Nasty?
When Adam and Eve sinned, it effected the entire creation, not just mankind. However, there will come a time when there will be complete peace on earth both in the realm of man and of animals.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD. - Isaiah 65:25

Again, I believe this literally. In regards to that holy mountain, mountains can represent kingdoms and the kingdom of the Messiah (Christ) will fill the whole earth.

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. -Dan. 2:34-35

Wouldn't you like to be part of that kingdom? You can be, if you totally commit your life to Christ. We cannot earn this kingdom; we must inherit it! We must be born again. Commit your life to Christ now. Pray this prayer and mean it from your heart: Father, forgive me for being a sinner. I ask you to cleanse me and I ask Jesus to come into my heart and make me a new creation. Thank you Father for hearing me and loving me. Help me to always live for you, in Jesus' Name I pray, amen.

If you have prayed this prayer and really have meant it, you are born again and shall inherit heaven if you stay with Jesus! For tips for growing in Christ, see the navigation bar to the left or, CLICK HERE
